Wrapping up 2011

Fall and Winter of 2011 will be officially known as the time that Momma took a long break from the baby blog to work on her fiction writing. Now that class is over, I'm trying to catch up with both blogs. Or, at least, jump back into it.

Aunt Lesia and Adam,
Recently landed on Planet Adam.

This year was not Adam's first Christmas, but it was the first time he could recognize that the holiday season was not like any other part of the year. He was thrilled to see all the Christmas trees, decorated and on display at our local Fry's supermarket---every single time we went grocery shopping! By the time we put up our tree, Adam had figured out that Christmas trees are for decorating.

Adam, deciding to no longer wait
for Mom and Dad to decorate the tree.

We spent Christmas at home and opened gifts on Christmas morning. Santa and us gave Adam a mix of small gifts to help him learn his letters and a few clothing items that he will soon grow into. Thanks to his eagerness to learn letters and the pack of alphabet magnets that Santa gave him, Adam can now recognize the letter "E."

Opening Christmas gifts.

The big gift item from Momma and Daddy was a climber/slide that we installed in the backyard. Matt and I worked on the yard (pulling up the circular brick patio that used to be there, back-filling the hole we created and installing new weed barrier and bark) over a few days.

Trying out the slide!

Boo!
